To Ranvir big banner means nothing
“It’s my second film with Rajat Kapoor and I play a very complex part in it. It’s the story of a struggling actor who has stars in his eyes about making it big in tinsel town and how life spirals him in another direction,” says Ranvir. While Ranvir himself had no such illusions when he entered the film industry, he accepts that working with Rajat Kapoor is wonderful. “Rajat and I have been working together for the past eight years and worked on several plays and films, including Bheja Fry. And working with people who have similar sensibilities is always a great experience,” says the actor, whose career graph boasts of small budget films like Khosla Ka Ghosla, Honeymoon Travels Pvt Limited and Pyaar ke Side Effects . But his recent films like Aaja Nachle and No Smoking have been pukka commercial films – a conscious move? “Honestly, I don’t choose films as commercial, off-beat, big-budget, multi-starrers or non-starrers. My only concern is the way a story is being narrated and if that’s in place, I have no hassles about taking up the film,” he says.
