Anushka Sharma is the brand new face in Bollywood with a dream debut backed by Yash Raj Films. Varsha Pillai met the Rab De Bana Di Jodiactress and asked her about working with Shah Rukh Khan in her very first film.
Varsha:Obviously you have no qualms working with a shorter hero? Especially if he is Shah Rukh Khan
Anushka: That is wrong because Shah Rukh is not shorter than me. If I stand without heels, we are of the same height.
Varsha: Was it a surreal experience when you were chosen to co-act with Shah Rukh in a Yash Raj film?
Anushka: More than getting all excited, I felt more responsible. Because of the fact that I was working with such big people and they are so good at what they do. So I knew that if any has to goof up, it had to be me.
Varsha: Which of the characters of Shah Rukh in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi would you have adored in real life?
Anushka: Suri any day. Because he is so nice. He is so adorable. Anyone who watches the film falls in love with Suri. He is so nice. He is so pure.
Varsha:Are you going to be the Yash Raj poster girl?
Anushka: I don't know. I can't decide that. However, my next film will be a Yash Raj film.

Is Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi responsible for the expected success of Ghajini?
Ghajini is all set to embark on a historic start in less than a week from now (the film begins its paid previews from Wednesday evening itself!) and in some way, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi deserves some part of the credit for that. Reason? Bollywood, which in year 2008 was at an all time low till about 10 days back, suddenly seems a lot more spirited and excited, courtesy the superb response that Adi-SRK combine has generated in the week gone by.
The sentiments have perked up overnight and the industry, which was reeling under recession and back to back failures of many a biggies (Yuvvraaj, Drona, Love Story 2050), has started singing a different tune altogether. Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar (who will be striking in less than a month from now, with Chandni Chowk To China) are being hailed as the saviors of the industry even as the third Big Khan has quietly moved out of the reckoning with the huge failure of Yuvvraaj.
Coming to Ghajini and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi connection, the super success of the latter has proven one point that people have actually visited theaters in hordes in spite of mood of the entire nation being gloomy and depressing for last so many days. Now if only the film would have been bad or it would have failed to excite any audience to step into theaters at all in the first place, the negativity, in all probability, would have rubbed into Ghajini as well.
Though Aamir Khan would still have managed to pull in substantial audience, the kind of buzz that the film is carrying today is unparalleled for which one can't help but thank Shah Rukh Khan and his Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi enough. Also, after spending mega bucks in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, if audiences would have disliked the film, they would have been hesitant to venture into theaters again within just a fortnight.
Looking at such scenarios, one can be assured that Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi has paved the way for Ghajini to go ahead and make huge bucks for itself too. The message for the Aamir Khan starrer is - 'See, we made good money in spite of release timing which was not so positive while reviews too were mixed. Now you have all going in your favor so why don't you go for the kill!'

The action sequences have been treated in a different way in comparison to the Tamil and it should be better for the wider audience."

Mugdha Godse turns nomad...
Well, don't get frizzled if you're a fan of Mugdha Godse and she hasn't decided to leave Bollywood. It's just about the fact that Mugdha is homeless at present. Winning laurels for her 'Fashion', she's there fashioning up her entire house with workers fixed on it. Fine! her plans was to locate for herself in a 5 star hotel for couple of weeks. Deepika Padukone gets Singhasan from Aishwarya
Filmmaker Kalpana Lajmi, who wrote the political drama Singhasan with Aishwarya Rai in mind, nows wants to make it with Deepika Padukone, who is a distant relative.
"I saw her in Om Shanti Om and Bachna Ae Haseeno and found her to possess that old world grace that comes naturally to Madhuri Dixit and Aishwarya Rai. I don't think any other girl today has that quality. I was once planning to cast Aishwarya as a politician in Singhasan. I'd love to cast Deepika in that role," Lajmi told IANS.
"Maybe she can get R.K. Films to produce it," she joked.
But the director isn't sure Deepika would reciprocate her enthusiasm.
"Why should she? I'm a down-and-out filmmaker. I haven't put a project together in the last three years because of various reasons, the main being finances. A filmmaker like me suffers a double disadvantage by being a woman," said Lajmi, who has made films like Chingaari and Daman.
Explaining her relationship with Deepika, she said: "We're both descendents of the great Guru Dutt. Deepika and I are Saraswat Brahmins. Her family and mine can be traced back to Kashmir. We're basically evicted Kashmiri pundits who migrated to Bangalore.
"If you remember my uncle Guru Dutt (her artist mother Lalita Lajmi's brother) was settled in Bangalore and so is Deepika's father Prakash Padukone. Deepika is definitely related to me, though she doesn't know it. But I hope she knows about me," Lajmi said.
Lajmi has been seeing a series of illnesses in her family, first her parents and then her guru and companion, composer Bhupen Hazarika.

Barack Obama tributes from India's most acclaimed women in films
New York, Barack Obama's election as US president is historic not just for Americans but for people the world over, say three of Indian cinema's best known women - Deepa Mehta, Mira Nair and Shabana Azmi.
Tributes to the president-elect who will be the first African American in the White House poured in Wednesday at the the opening of the five-day MIAAC Film Festival of Indian Independent and Diaspora films.
"It is an amazing, amazing victory for people of all colour, for people who have been disenfranchised," said Indian Canadian director Mehta, who was in New York for the screening of her newest film "Heaven on Earth".
"Obama as (US) president is the best news of the century," Mehta told IANS.
India-born New York-based Mira Nair, who campaigned for Obama, said emphatically: "Anything is possible".
Last month, Nair had organised a literary meet in support of Obama. It was attended by literary giants of Indian origin like Salman Rushdie, Kiran Desai, Jhumpa Lahiri, Suketu Mehta and Manil Suri.
The Mumbai-based actor-activist Azmi also termed it a historic occasion.
"I consider myself extremely privileged to have witnessed America creating history in the election of Obama as the president of the United States," Azmi, who partied all night in celebration, told the audience.
"As an artiste I feel and recognise that the only atmosphere in which art can survive is that of freedom, liberal values and democracy," she said.
Abhi makes Ash happy

Abhishek down with fever in Kerala, recouping Big B worries
Mumbai (PTI): Abhishek Bachchan who is shooting for Mani Ratnam's "Ravan" in Kerala, is down with shivering and high fever.
His father Amitabh Bachchan, who is recuperating from his recent illness, is at present in Udaipur for rest and has posted the information on his blog.
"I am here for R&R (rest and rehabilitation). To keep away from stress and pressures. To recoup and revitalise. To gain strength. However, there has been nothing but stress and unwanted pressures," the Big B wrote.
He said Aishwarya who is also shooting with Abhishek called him on wednesday morning to inform about his condition.
Bachchan said that he got a doctor to do a conference call and gave instructions on his condition and treatment. "My heart and mind are in the remote jungles of Kerala where he shoots. You can stand anything..you just cannot stand to see your kid in trouble. Just cannot!!", Bachchan said.
The Big B also wrote about the media intrusion asking for his quotes on B R Chopra who passed away on wednesday morning.
He said he was in the midst of getting more information on Abhishek's health when his mobile was being repeatedly interrupted by the media for his quotes.

She was shocked to know the director actually wanted her for Aishwarya’s youngest sister’s part which finally went to Piya Rai Choudhary. Bebo was irked at being offered the fourth lead and vowed never to work with her again. Now when a new Gurinder Chadha film was offered to Kareena she quickly said no without hesitation.”

Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan has given his wife Aishwarya Rai the perfect Valentine’s Day gift - by coming back home.
Big B’s baby has taken two days off from shooting for Rakeysh Mehra’s Delhi 6 and is back in Mumbai from Jaipur. This will be the couple’s first Valentine’s Day since their marriage and both are expected to spend some of it watching Jodhaa Akbar, in which Aishwarya plays the lead.
Abhishek wanted to surprise Aishwarya by landing in Mumbai without telling her, but decided against this. He requested the director for two days off, which were granted.
The grand premiere of Jodhaa Akbar will be held at Imax Adlabs in Wadala, with the entire Bachchan family in attendance. Papa Amitabh is expected to arrive back from Simla today also.

Sallu puffs up his chest
The latest news is that Salman Khan will have to increase his weight by one-and-a-half times to fit into the role of Veer, in the film written by him. The role requires him to play a warrior.Salman has agreed to do the necessary. In return, he is charging Rs 25 crore for this role. Confirming Salman's fee for the film, producer of Veer, Vijay Galani says, "Yes, we are paying him about that much. It's a difficult role to portray. But Salman has taken to it well. He is working out diligently under the guidance of his private trainer. He is also on a special diet."It was being said that Salman has changed his eating habits. And the results have started showing. Galani replies, "Yes, Salman's chest has increased by at least 4 inches in the last four weeks. He still has a lot of work to do, but the way he is going about it, it won't take long."Talking about the film, Galani says, "Salman wrote it over a long period of time. We are making certain modifications, without changing the story." Galani clarifies that Salman has written the story, not the script. Hence, he will not get credit as the script-writer for the film. "We will give him credit as the story writer," Galani reveals.Buzz is, Priyanka may star opposite Salman in Veer. Salman wanted his girlfriend Katrina to star in the film but since Katrina has already signed too many films, she cannot fit Veer into her schedule. "Hence, Galani and director Anil Sharma are thinking of casting Priyanka," says our well-placed source in the industry.Galani dismisses the casting of Priyanka as a rumour, saying, "We will think of the heroine only after February 28, the day when the script is completed."Priyanka and Salman were good friends and have acted opposite each other in Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and Salaam-e-Ishq. 'Indiana Jones' Trailer a Hit with Fans
The first footage of new Indiana Jones movie The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull has won critical acclaim--just days after it was released online. A trailer for the fourth outing for the intrepid archeologist--which shows clips of the first three films before cutting to star Harrison Ford swinging his bullwhip--has garnered praise from film fans across the world since it was made available earlier this week. One blogger writes, "As soon as the John Williams' Raiders overture kicks in, you cannot suppress a nostalgic smile. Aside from bits of obvious CGI trickery, the trailer is nearly a note-perfect recreation of Indy's past adventures." Fans have also praised Ford's return as Indiana Jones--insisting the 65-year-old's age makes no difference to the role he last played 18 years ago. The hotly anticipated movie is slated for a May release.
Katrina out of Yash Raj’s next
Yash Raj’s upcoming film to be directed by Siddharth Anand had an ensemble cast of four gorgeous girls Bipasha Basu, Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif and Minnisha Lamba romancing Ranbir Kapoor. But from what we hear now, Katrina Kaif has been dropped out of the project. Siddharth Anand confirms the news, “Yes Katrina is not part of the film. Her character has been removed due to the length of the film. The film was getting too long. So I decided to remove her character from the film.” This comes in as a surprise to us especially when Yash Raj had recently signed a two film deal with Katrina and also issued a press release regarding the same. It is also believed that Katrina, who shared cold vibes with Bipasha Basu on the sets of Abbas Mastan’s Race, wasn’t really keen to share screen space with Bipasha again. “I will not like to comment on that because Katrina didn’t even shoot for my film”, says Siddharth Anand. “It was completely my decision to remove Katrina’s character and Katrina being a professional understands that it was a complete professional decision”.
Sohail Khan on a killing spree
No, Sohail is not following his brother’s footsteps and killing blackbucks... Rather, he is on a killing spree onscreen for his under-production film Kisaan which is directed by Puneet Sira. Sohail plays the title role and is a farmer in the film and due to circumstances; he is forced to kill three people. What’s the big deal you might ask? Sunny Deol puts 10 men into orbit with the swinging of one hand so what makes Sohail’s case so interesting? He had to kill three people over a period of three days in three different ways. And mind you, these weren’t your regular dishum dishum killings... rather from what we hear they were completely unconventional ways of killing which is eventually going to unease the viewing public. Says action director Mahendra Verma, “Yes, Sohail Khan had to kill three people in different ways, and it was grueling for him. But wait and watch. It’s one of the highlights of the film.” On another note, director Punit Sira was in for a surprise as well. Both Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan pulled out all stops to promote their home productions last year, and though SRK seemed to have topped the box-office charts in 2007, Aamir seems all set to reign showbiz in 2008. Aamir’s forthcoming film, a remake of the Tamil thriller Ghajini has reportedly already made Rs 90 crore. According to reports, the Indian Film Company has bagged the domestic distribution rights for the Aamir Khan-starrer for an estimated Rs 53 crore. While its home video rights, overseas rights and satellite rights have been sold for another Rs 40 crore. Which brings the grand total to Rs 93 crore. “With Aamir at the helm we are convinced that Ghajini will be one of the biggest films of 2008, so it’s a fair deal for us,” CEO of TFC Advisors, Sandeep Bhargava said.Till now, the record for pre-release movie rights was for King Khan's Om Shanti Om, which was Rs 73 crore.The reported record price that Ghajini has fetched now puts Aamir one notch above Shah Rukh Khan as both actor and producer.

Saif’s mother says marriage will happen
Saif Ali Khan’s mother Sharmila Tagore has gone on record to clarify the ‘marriage’ issue concerning Saif and Kareena Kapoor.
“The marriage will happen when it has to. Right now, Saif is very happy and carefree. He is enjoying life to the fullest. I can only wish him luck. And the same for Kareena,” said the former actress to an Indian daily.
When asked about her daughter Soha Ali Khan’s love-life, she states, “I cannot control all that is said in the media. I can’t react to all the rumors. In fact, none of the rumors deserve to be clarified because they are baseless. Soha is not alone; we love her and are with her.”

Kareena Kapoor will finally team up with Aamir Khan in Rajkumar Hirani's next. Their pairing never took off earlier, with both Mani Ratnam's Lajjo and Vishal Bharadwaj's Mr Mehta and Mrs Singh being shelved.Kareena and Aamir will now be seen together in Hirani's next film, based on Chetan Bhagat's novel Five Point Someone. Earlier Kajol was being considered for the role but since she was busy with husband, Ajay Devgan's film, she was unable to do it. Apparently, Kareena and Raju had a hush-hush meeting last week, where he narrated the script to her. According to sources close to the actress, Kareena has just loved the Munnabhai films and is very keen to work with Hirani. The film is likely to be called Idiot and the story is about three IIT students. Hirani has also approached John Abraham, Shah Rukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan for other roles in the film. The real story behind Kajol's exit and Kareena's entry goes something like this. So, though Kajol is going around saying that she hasn't yet read Raju's film and will only consider the film after she reads the script, it is a fact that when Hirani found out that she had poked fun at him by asking Shah Rukh Khan who Hirani was and if he was any good as a director, he felt insulted. He decided then to take the script to Kareena who has shown a keen interest and is trying to work out her dates. Well, Kajol's loss is certainly Kareena's gain.

She has inspired several movie chronicles, reeling off with a silent version in 1928 to spin-offs in Bombay as well as the southern film-producing centres. The stars of Bollywood were out in force for the premiere of Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Jodhaa Akbar. Hrithik Roshan was in attendance with his much pregnant wife Suzanne, and his in-laws. Aishwarya Rai came with her husband Abhishek Bachchan and his parents, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan.

But Shibani has fictionalized the second half to make it a gripping emotional drama. Manyata Dutt’s ‘first husband’ says she isn`t divorced
New Delhi, Feb 12: A day after Sanjay Dutt married his girlfriend Manyata in Mumbai, reports have emerged suggesting that the one time item girl is not divorced from her first husband. Her first husband, Meraj ul Rehman, has alleged that they got married in 2003 and have not formally separated yet. There are rumours that this is Manyata’s fourth marriage. Sanjay, ofcourse, has been married before this, too. Meraj and Manyata, reportedly have a son who is staying in Dubai with Manyata’s relatives. Meraj said that he just wants his son back from wife Manyata. Meraj has been a struggling writer in the film industry and is presently in jail. He is accused of sending vulgar SMSs to some Bollywood actresses. In support of his allegations, Meraj has produced some photographs (in possession of Zee News) of their marriage and honeymoon along with Manyata’s pregnancy reports.

Valentine ’s Day is round the corner and valentine gifts and cards are popping up rapidly on the stands in gift shops all over the world. This time of the year is all about love, and the beaus and belles in Bollywood are no exception to this feel.

Katrina in new Yash Raj film
Kabir Khan, the director of Kabul Express which released in Dec 2006, is now set to direct his next film. It was said that the film would star John Abraham and Neil Mukesh in lead roles. Now, the latest addition to the cast of the film is Katrina Kaif. Katrina will play the female lead opposite John Abraham. The film which will go on the floors in July this year will release in 2009. The rest of the cast members are still being finalized.Says Kabir Khan, "This is a very relevant and contemporary story and very close to my heart. I am excited to start my second film under the Yash Raj banner."

Sunny’s time starts now
Sunny Deol, who is working with Neerraj Pathak for his home production Right Yaa Wrong, will also star in his next film, Man. However, there is a condition attached - Sunny must get a lean look for the film.Sunny needs to lose at least 10 kgs by March 15. When contacted, Neerraj Pathak confirmed the story. He says, “Yes, it’s true that I want Sunny to have a lean look in my next film. Man is an action film with a difference. Sunny needs to have a fitter body because that’s what his role demands.”He adds, “Sunny is one of the best action heroes in the industry right now, but he needs to reduce 10 kgs to get the look we want. I’m sure he will take it as a challenge and work towards it.”So, has Neerraj challenged Sunny to lose 10 kgs by March 15? He says, “It is a sort of challenge. In a way we both have different challenges to meet by March 15. I have to complete the script, he has to lose weight.”Says Neerraj, “We meet every day either in the office or at the location of Right Yaa Wrong. Oh Ghosh, a film with Shahid
Ram Gopal Varma's muse, Jiah Khan has finally bagged a role in director Ken Ghosh's next. She will play the lead role opposite Shahid Kapoor. The yet untitled film is primarily based on music and dance. Choreographer Marty, who has earlier choreographed for singers Justin Timerlake and Britney Spears will fly down to Mumbai to choreograph for the film.Industry insiders say that Ken had earlier approached Kangana Ranaut, Amrita Rao and many other actresses in tinsel town but finally decided to cast Jiah Khan in the film. “After considering many actresses Ken Ghosh has finally decided to go ahead and shoot the film with Jiah Khan,” says the source.In the film, the choreography is expected to be different from the usual Bollywood style. Marty will choreograph the dance sequence for Shahid, who is known to be a good dancer amongst Bollywood actors.
Raj Kaushal suffers heart attack

It is learnt that Akshay’s wife Twinkle does not want her hubby to feature in a film opposite Priyanka with whom he was rumouredly linked. Says a source, “When Blue was first conceived, there was scope for only one heroine — Lara Dutta. Later a role was created especially for Priyanka — at Akshay’s behest.” With Priyanka stepping out, the producers immediately pencilled in on Katrina. The rapprochement happened when Smriti came to Balaji's first awards function and danced on-stage with Gautami Gadgil, her replacement in Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.
"Smriti came and performed on stage with Gautami Gadgil and Shah Rukh Khan. What a performance! I want to thank the 10 TV girls who did the Chak De! India act with Shah Rukh, especially Smriti. In fact, Karan Johar said on stage that she's the real Tulsi," Ekta said.
The awards function, held February 1 in Mumbai, was a big hit especially with superstar Shah Rukh Khan and ace director Karan Johar pitching in and performing at the show. And now Ekta wants Smriti to come back and work for her again.
"It can happen any time Smriti wants to. Our doors are always open for her. I'd be honoured if Smriti comes back to us. I'd love to do something in collaboration with her. I SMSed and told her that the show couldn't have been complete without her."

Sanjay Dutt and Manyata will be getting married according to the Hindu customs at a common friend’s place on Monday, says a source.
Manyata admitted on Saturday that she has formally married her long-time boyfriend, Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt.
The actor had earlier denied reports that they were married.
However, reports were doing the rounds after the couple jointly issued an advertisement in newspapers congratulating Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray on his 82nd birthday last month.

Farah Khan gives birth to bonny triplets
Mumbai, Feb 11: Bollywood director and choreographer Farah Khan gave birth to two bonny girls and one baby boy late Sunday night at Mumbai’s Jaslok hospital. Farah’s husband Shirish Kunder and her brother Sajid Khan were beside her at the time of the delivery. Sajid Khan told Zee News that both Farah and the babies were in the pink of health and doing well.The ace director’s close friends which include Shahrukh Khan, Gauri Khan, Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala are expected to arrive at the hospital soon.Earlier last month, producer-director Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan`s wife Gauri Khan had organized a baby shower for Farah with a lavish function held at SRK`s palatial Bandra bungalow `Mannat` in Mumbai. Paris Hilton unintentionally gave clubbers a quick glimpse of her twin assets, by slipping out of her dress while partying at a nightclub.
The socialite visited Boston's Estate nightclub to celebrate winning the Woman Of The Year 'award' from Harvard University's Harvard Lampoon Magazine.
But, while stepping up on stage to belt out her previous single Stars Are Blind, Paris put on a rather eye-popping show.
"Paris certainly knows how to put on an eye-popping show,” The Sun quoted an onlooker, as saying.
"It was all a little cringey as she belted out her single as she danced on stage, but the highlight was definitely seeing Paris' boobs.

She has always believed in being dignified and keeping her personal life in the private domain. But she seems quite upset when Salman is painted in a bad light and the fact is upsetting her more, and therefore she felt that she had to take a stand and put a foot on the rumour floating around.
Incidentally, Katrina on the professional front is on a career high with a 100 percent record last year. Her films ‘Namastey London’, ‘Apne’, ‘Partner’ and ‘Welcome’ were super duper hits. Even her forthcoming film ‘Race’ looks very promising and is touted in the industry circle as a potential blockbuster at the box office.

It's official: Sanjay Dutt is married to Manyata
It's official now. Manyata admitted on Saturday that she has formally married her long-time boyfriend, Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt.
The actor had earlier denied reports that they were married.
However, reports were doing the rounds after the couple jointly issued an advertisement in newspapers congratulating Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray on his 82nd birthday last month.
IANS had earlier reported that the duo had a low-profile registered marriage in the presence of family members and close friends.

New Delhi, Feb 08: Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif on Friday dismissed as "complete rubbish" that actor Salman Khan had slapped her at a coffee joint in Mumbai. "The reports are complete rubbish. I was never slapped by him," said Katrina on the sidelines of launch of a spa product here. A media report quoting the staff of a coffee joint frequented by the duo in Mumbai had reported the incident. "I would not like to comment further on Salman," she shot back as reporters sought her reaction on the report.

In the yet untitled film Katrina is paired with John Abraham who played a key role in 'Kabul Express'. As per Narendra Singh Rajawat, head of the Rajput Sabha, Gowariker is presenting Jodhabai as Mughal emperor Jalaluddin Akbar's wife, which according to him is factually incorrect. Mimoh, Mithun Chakravarthy’s son who was supposed to make his debut years ago will finally be seen in Dharmesh Darshan’s next.

Katrina Kaif is extremely livid about a rumour that reported that she was manhandled by boyfriend Salman Khan and slapped at a public coffee shop in Mumbai.

According to sources close to her it is for the first time Katrina Kaif has seriously clarified.
She has always believed in being dignified and keeping her personal life in the private domain. But she seems quite upset when Salman is painted in a bad light and the fact is upsetting her more, and therefore she felt that she had to take a stand and put a foot on the rumour floating around.
Incidentally, Katrina on the professional front is on a career high with a 100 percent record last year. Her films ‘Namastey London’, ‘Apne’, ‘Partner’ and ‘Welcome’ were super duper hits. Even her forthcoming film ‘Race’ looks very promising and is touted in the industry circle as a potential blockbuster at the box office.
Says Katrina "I am quite pleased with the way my career has shaped up. Even ‘Race’ looks extremely slick and has got an international look. It was so special shooting for ‘Race’. I am just looking forward to it."
And Katrina is so upset at the false and baseless rumors making the rounds that Katrina has finally decided to clarify.
Says Katrina" Enough is enough, I have never talked about my personal life and don't intend to, and because I have always believed that what is personal is personal. But this is too much. The story that has appeared is utter rubbish and fabricated. I suspect that it's been spread by vested interest with ulterior motives. I would like to repeat that nothing of this sort has happened. Normally I don't like to clarify but sometimes one has to take a stand and this is one of one of those times.

Kangana Steps in Amrita's Place
Unlike in Hollywood where the sequels have the same star cast, our Bollywood doesn't believe in that it seems. Sequels are planned but the original stars are replaced.The sequel of Golmaal, Malamaal Weekly and Dhamaal are been made with a few stars of the original stars replaced. Now the same trend is being followed by the Bhatt brothers who are making a sequel to Raaz. The original which had Bipasha Basu and Dino Morea are not part of the sequel.Producers Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt along with director Mohit Suri are making the sequel of Raaz and have titled it Raaz 2. The film was supposed to have Amrita Rao in place of Bipasha Basu but now she too has been replaced by Kangana Ranaut. The film will go on floors this month.
Ghar Ki Lakshmi actress threatens to quit
High profile Television actress Nupur Alankar has threatened to quit the Zee TV serial Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyaan if her character is not given meatier storylines.
Nupur plays the happy-go-lucky mother-of-one Halki, and has been in the serial from episode one, but her recent lack of screen time and no good storylines has made her take this drastic action. She has warned the makers and has given them a deadline by which her character should have more of a role to play.
If Nupur does leave the serial, then it would be the third time she has done it, with Saath Phere and Karan Apna Apna being the other two.

Now Govinda is after sexy Celina Jaitley
The Bollywood rumor-mill has finally over-boiled… as it now churns out news of a love affair between actor Govinda and sex-starlet Celina Jaitley.
Apparently, the story began last week when Celina held a get-together at her house where Govinda was invited along with Kelly Dorji, Mohit Suri and Upen Patel. When the party ended, Govinda left for home with the rest of the guests, but he returned an hour later and spent the night at her house.
This story has been rebuked by Celina, who has angrily stated, “It’s such rubbish. Today is my parents’ anniversary but they are very upset with the turn of events. I live with them and such slander just shows cheap thinking. Chi Chi is somebody I like as a person and an actor.

Saif and Kareena have fight over Salman
Now here is something that you may not have heard in the news… Salman Khan has got in-between star-crossed lovers Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan.
Saif and Kareena were attending a birthday party for Kareena’s good friend Amrita Arora when suddenly Bebo spotted Salman and started hanging out with him, instead of her boy. Kareena only went to talk with Salman once his girlfriend Katrina left the party, which was around 2.30am. This whole situation got up Saif’s nose and the Nawab got a little jealous.
Adds a source, “Saif is a very possessive guy. He doesn’t approve of Kareena’s display of affection for other male actors. Also, there were lots of big stars at the party (Salman, SRK) and in a situation like that, Saif gets really insecure. It was very obvious that he was getting irritated with Bebo’s interaction with the other macho men around. It doesn’t help that Saif doesn’t have too many friends in the industry, while Bebo is friends with most actors.”
Normally when Kareena attends parties with Saif she keeps herself restrained, but one look at Salman on this drunky night, and she went all gooey at the feet. According to some other people, Kareena was holding Salman’s hands, and at one instance… she even put his hands over her face. Saif quietly watched this farce, and when Kareena returned back to him, he ignored her and kept to himself.
Later on Kareena got quite drunk and started feeling sick, and this is when Saif took her home and then refused to talk with her for a good few days after. When Saif was asked about this story, he denied it, saying, “Complete rubbish! Salman is my brother and the party was great fun.”

Kuch Kuck Hota Hai's little Anjali is back
Sana Saeed was loved and adored, as she lit up the screen playing the role of little Anjali, who sparked off the love story between Shahrukh Khan and Kajol in the super hit Kuch Kuch Hota Hain, a film that made her a household name in 1998.
She is now working in a television soap— titled Babul Ka Aangan Chootey Na and for her choosing the small screen over films came naturally for her.
Sana says, "The reason i took up this serial is because I can adjust my studies along with the serial, I'm working only for 10 days in a month and shooting for 12 to 15 hours a day,so I can easily manage to catch my studies,and it works out better."
She is currently pursuing an advertising diploma and plans to go abroad for further studies.
"I have been working as an actor since I was three-years-old, so I enjoy it, but I also want to focus on my studies. So far, I have managed both studies and acting pretty well and as long as that happens, I will keep doing it", adds the young actress.
